Limit Set of a Weakly Supercritical Contact Process on a Homogeneous Tree

چکیده
A conjecture of Liggett [9] concerning the regime of weak survival for the contact process on a homogeneous tree is proved. The conjecture is shown to imply that the Hausdorff dimension of the limit set of such a contact process is no larger than half the Hausdorff dimension of the space of ends of the tree. The conjecture is also shown to imply that at the boundary between weak survival and strong survival, the contact process survives only weakly, a theorem previously proved by Zhang [14]. Finally, a stronger form of a theorem of Hawkes and Lyons concerning the Hausdorff dimension of a Galton-Watson tree is proved.

Growth Profile and Invariant Measures for the Weakly Supercritical Contact Process on a Homogeneous Tree
It is known that the contact process on a homogeneous tree of degree d+1 ≥ 3 has a weak survival phase, in which the infection survives with positive probability but nevertheless eventually vacates every finite subset of the tree. It is shown in this paper that in the weak survival phase there exists a spherically symmetric invariant measure whose density decays exponentially at infinity, thus ...

The proof of Theorem 3 in [1] is incorrect, as it relies on a faulty use of the strong Markov property. The theorem asserts that β = β(λ) is strictly increasing in λ for λ < λ2, where λ is the infection rate parameter for the contact process, λ2 is the upper critical value (at the transition from weak to strong survival), and β = limn→∞ u n where un = probability that a vertex xn at distance n ...
متن کاملAnisotropic Contact Process on Homogeneous Trees
The existence of a weak survival region is established for the anisotropic symmetric contact process on a homogeneous tree T2d of degree 2d ≥ 4 : For parameter values in a certain connected region of positive Lebesgue measure, the population survives forever with positive probability but ultimately vacates every finite subset of the tree with probability one. In this phase, infection trails mus...
متن کاملAnisotropic Contact Processes on Homogeneous Trees
Sufficient conditions for the existence of a weak survival phase are given for an anisotropic contact process on a homogeneous tree. These require that the contact process be homogeneous, that is, for any two vertices x, y of the tree there is an automorphism mapping x to y leaving the infection rates invariant; and that the contact process be weakly symmetric, that is, for each vertex there sh...
متن کاملLimiting laws of supercritical branching random walks
In this note, we make explicit the limit law of the renormalized supercritical branching random walk, giving credit to a conjecture formulated in [5] for a continuous analogue of the branching random walk. Also, in the case of a branching random walk on a homogeneous tree, we express the law of the corresponding limiting renormalized Gibbs measures, confirming, in this discrete model, conjectur...
